Removing adhesive sticker on headlight

Hi,

My auto came with Halfords Headlamp Converters (probably been stuck on for iv-5years), afterward pulling it off, a thin sail of transparent agglutinative is left behind. How should I get rid of it?

I've tried Autoglym tar remover, WD40, using a light smooth with a DA and used a credit card to scratch it off but no luck at all. The thin adhesive seem to take been 'welded' on and feels absolutely affluent with the surface.

I was thinking of using a pilus drier to 'cook' information technology and and then scrape it off.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thank you

Valet pro glue and tar remover is excellent stuff. It destroyed a crappy ten year erstwhile GB sticker off my sisters car. :D

I oft use Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection to remove residue from stickers so on ... it seems to dissolve gum really well. You lot might have some of that kicking around. Otherwise, you'll need to purchase a dedicated mucilage remover.

tardis or any tar and glue remover.

hot water ,hot hot ie hot enough so you can only nearly stand it, and something to scrape it off...

dip a sponge in the hot water and concur information technology on the sticker remains then apply tar and glue remover.

failing that heat it up -tar and gum remover-scrape it off.

Sounds similar a hard glue similar araldite, sounds pretty chemical resistant. Possibly get a flat bract to scrape it, a plane blade or chisel.
Only if your lights are real glass though

They are plastic headlights by the way, probably wont use a chisel but a sharp blade sounds like a program

If you cant feel the adhesive and they are plastic lights, I would say there is a good take chances that whatever gum information technology is has reacted with your plastic lenses and marked them, so may never come off.... Whatsoever adhesive it is, you can unremarkably feel information technology??

I can sort of feel information technology when I run my fingers across it, only it'south very affluent with the plastic. using all the things I mentioned to remove information technology, I managed to partially remove ~10% of the agglutinative that was left behind.. in that location are gaps within the adhesive so i'm hopeful in removing it over the weekend.

I let you lot know :)

Success!!

finally removed the adhesive left from the eurolite.

Afterwards peeling information technology off, what was left was two layers.. 1st layer = thin sail of plastic (which was removed initially using finger nails then realised a sharp blade was best (being very careful not to scratch the actual headlight).

The 2nd layer was the sticky agglutinative layer and the Autoglym tar remover removed it with EASE.

At present need to polish the headlight with Meguiar's Ultimate compound to get that sparking wait..

Thank you for all your assist!
